The Rector of St. Paul's, Garvagh, Rev Canon Paul Whittaker, led around two dozen members of the village's Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club to Londonderry on Saturday 9th June on a 'Cultural Awareness Day'. The visit was arranged in support of the Diocesan vision, 'Transforming Community, Radiating Christ'
"The 25 people who took part were mostly from the unchurched or 'de-churched' community," Canon Whittaker said. "We began in the Apprentice Boys Museum, then had a tour of St Columb's Cathedral, and finished with a tour of the city walls. A great time was had by all." The Rector said he wished to express 'a big thank you' to the group's tour guides, Billy Stewart and Ian Bartlett.
