This year, General Synod has been meeting in Derry-Londonderry for the first time ever and not surprisingly there has been a large turn out of delegates from the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe at the Millennium Forum theatre, where the Synod has been taking place.
This is the last Synod the Rt Rev Ken Good will be attending in his role as Bishop of Derry and Raphoe. The Bishop is due to retire at the end of this month.
The opening prayers before the start of daily business at the Synod are being led by curates from the diocese and Thursday's proceedings began with a reading from Scripture and prayer led by the Revd Sean Hanily (Drumragh with Mountfield).
