'Equip and Inspire' Childrens Ministry Day on Saturday 18 January
Where is it being held?
At Manorcunningham Parish Hall (easily accessible from Letterkenny and Londonderry and from parishes in their hinterland and throughout Donegal). You will receive directions in due course.
Who will lead it?
Mrs Tammi Peak, the diocesan representative on the Church of Ireland Children's Ministry Network. Tammi brings lots of hands on experience and bundles of ideas and enthusiasm.
How long will it last?
The day starts with Coffee from 10.30am with an 11am start, lunch at 1pm and finishing by 3.30pm.
Who is it for?
Basically anyone who currently works with children in or around the church or might do so in the future. If you have any potential leaders or helpers this would provide an ideal introduction for them to the possibility of taking up a role in the parish. It would also be of benefit to clergy and those who have been serving in a role with children for a while, helping them to keep abreast of new ideas.
It is a repeat of the event held last October at Garvagh which was so much appreciated. It will bear in mind that Sunday Schools in the Raphoe end of the diocese as elsewhere tend to have smaller numbers and perhaps more limited resources. The event is not exclusively for Raphoe parishes however - any parish in the Derry that missed the last event will find this relevant too. And we are expecting some from other denominations to join us.
Is there a cost?
There will be a modest charge of £10/euro per person to include lunch. The hope and expectation is that each parish will pay for those representing it.
If you have any questions please come back to me (Paul Hoey).
In order to make all the necessary preparations we need numbers as soon as possible. Please let me know how many will be coming from your church and if there are any special dietary needs.
The Revd Paul Hoey
Parish Development Officer for the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe
and Priest-in-charge of Clondevaddock
